Crossover Sub
Montrae Mining’s Crossover Sub allows different sizes and types of drill pipes or other components to be joined or reducing wear to the thread of components.
All of our Crossover Subs can have wrench flats milled into them to allow for better assembly and disassembly.
Crossover Subs come in three basic styles:
- Pin (male) x Box (female)
- Pin (male) x Pin (male)
- Box (female) x Box (female)
Saver Sub
Montrae Mining’s Saver Sub allows different sizes and types of drill pipes or other components to be joined or reducing wear to the thread of components.
All of our Saver Subs can have wrench flats milled into them to allow for better assembly and disassembly.
The Saver Sub comes in three basic styles:

Lockwasher
Montrae Mining’s Lockwasher was designed to eliminate welding of the Crossover Sub to the Piston of the Shock Cusion Sub because this caused damage to the chrome of the Piston. The Lockwasher is available as a Top or Bottom option.
Top Adaptor Sub
The Montrae Mining Top Adaptor Sub was designed to assist with installation and removal of the Montrae Mining Shock-Cusion Sub without the need for hot work permit. It also eliminates the risk of damaging the bullshaft seal.
Locking System
Montrae Mining’s Lock System was designed to eliminate gluing and welding between the Rotary Head and the Shock Cusion Sub. The Locking System also locks between the Piston of the Shock Cusion Sub and the Crossover Sub.
The Lock System has been in Research and Development for the past 8 years, and is now finalised and being used within the marketplace. It has proven to be the most effective means for connection eliminating any need for heating and welding. In turn allows for quick change out with minimal personnel.
